Richard Bright, the chief of the Federal government’s Coronavirus vaccine research program was ousted from his position this past week, apparently because of his opposition to Trump’s advocacy of the anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for COVID-19.

Hydroxychloroquine, which was recklessly promoted by Trump as a treatment for COVID-19, is not only unproven as a COVID-19 treatment, but, in fact, can result in fatal side effects in some patients.

Now, Trump’s own former FDA Commissioner, Dr. Scott Gottlieb, has stated that the ouster of Richard Bright as chief of the Federal government vaccine research program is “certainly” going to set back research on a Coronavirus vaccine.
